P36: A collaborative approach to developing software to help Year 2 children in the 'Catch-Up' maths group
Author: Pauline Blade, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Furze Infants School, Barking and Dagenham
Date: 2005
The LSA investigated how appropriate software could best be developed to meet the identified needs of certain learners in Year 2 maths, who have not yet grasped all the Year 1 maths concepts. A member of the Content Team from a nearby College of Further Education observed the children in a maths lesson and then developed an appropriate piece of software for them, which the children will go to test. The LSA valued the opportunity to have software tailor-made for her pupils.
