Summary

Rosemary teaches ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) students at Entry Level 1 and 2. She investigated whether the use of ICT could improve a traditional method of teaching, the "And then " set of sequenced picture cards.

Action

The cards were scanned in and presented to the students using Moodle (A software package designed to help create on-line courses). They were only presented to the students after they had been through the cards in the traditional way, as the intention was not to replace this successful teaching method but to add value to it. Student feedback was then collected.

Outcomes

The students enjoyed using the technology and there was some positive feedback from them, although there was no noticeable improvement in the quality of work. Rosemary concluded that this could be a useful resource and she would be using it more in the future.
