Author: Elaine Mattinson, Bishop Auckland College
Date: 2006

Elaine gives an account of her experiences of using ICT in teaching Child Care Students. She also gains feedback from a group of students to get their point of view on the value of the ICT Test Bed project.
Action
As a teacher with eleven years experience, Elaine discusses the changes ICT has made to her teaching. She also gives the results of a questionnaire given to fifteen Child Care Students who had experience of learning both before and after the ICT Test Bed project was introduced.
Outcomes
Elaine felt that the use of ICT had been a tremendous aid to her teaching, allowing much greater flexibility while also saving time, effort and money. The students' feedback was also generally very positive, although they did stress the importance of interaction within the group as an aid to learning.
