P31: Gathering evidence of change in school halfway through the ICT Test Bed project
Author: Geoff Swinton, Classroom teacher, Sunnybrow Primary School, County Durham
Date: 2005
The teacher gives his reflections on how the introduction of ICT has changed his school, after returning from a lengthy absence. He states that the children now demonstrate greater concentration and involvement with their learning and comments on how technology has facilitated differentiation and the sharing of resources and created an ethos of achievement.
Members of the School Council were asked their opinions on the use of ICT for writing, and several of them spoke positively about it. The teacher felt that Year 6 reading results were higher than would otherwise have been expected had they not used ICT. The use of ICT also saved time in administering tests and collating results.
